Job Description
Overview Oversight of the Community and Cultural Outreach Department whose function is to facilitate the Cherokee Nation Government's professional and efficient communication, assistance, and interaction with all Cherokee Community and Community Organizations. Also responsible for compliance with applicable federal, state, funding, or other agency requirements and regulations and Cherokee Nation Policies and Procedures. Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Public Policy, Native American Policy, Business Management/Administration or closely related field; or six years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
An additional five (5) years experience in related field is required.COMPUTER SKILLS
An individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Internet software; Payroll systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating. Prefer a valid US Passport. (Position requires extensive travel.)OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to deal with dissatisfied/irate customers, high knowledge of Cherokee and Native American cultures, ability to travel extensively.OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Employee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE). Ability to professionally interact with high-ranking government officials from the Cherokee Nation, other Indian Tribes, and other local/state/federal entities.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus.WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.Qualifications:
