- Full-time Job Summary The Upward Bound Counselor performs the functions as defined in the Upward Bound proposal and the federal regulations. Essential Job Functions
- Read and understand the Upward Bound proposal and become an expert on all components and requirements. Attend and facilitate Upward Bound Summer College
- (A 6-week program where staff live on a college campus with Upward Bound students to supervise/assist while high school students earn concurrent college credit and gain college experience.)
- Provide information about Upward Bound to the general public.
- Recruit new students to plan and conduct workshops with the currently enrolled Upward Bound participants.
- Monitor and document the academic progress of all Upward Bound participants, including collecting and analyzing progress reports and transcripts.
- Develop yearly curriculum in cooperation with other UB Counselors and the Program Director.
- Administer all required testing to students.
- Identify the academic needs of Upward Bound participants and coordinate or implement individualized academic interventions as appropriate.
- Provide academic guidance and counseling to students and families.
- Develop and maintain documentation of activities and participant records; prepare reports for target schools
- Collect and input data into the Blumen database for the Upward Bound Annual Performance Report (APR)
- Develop and maintain original program recruitment applications and other published materials needed for program administration. Coordinate logistics for various projects, including planning for and budgeting meals, transportation, and staff necessary for an event/field trip. Supervise Upward Bound students during college visits and educational field trips.
- Organize and implement special projects as assigned by the Executive Director.

Job Requirements:
- The Upward Bound Counselor must have excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills, and have flexibility and personal integrity.
- Employee must demonstrate on an ongoing basis the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with co-workers and department heads while retaining strict confidentiality in all aspects of the position.
- Strong computer, typing, 10key, and phone skills are required.

Required Education, Licensure and Experience Education:
Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college in an education, counseling or related field (NOEXCEPTIONS
)Work Schedule:
- Monday
- Friday from 8-5
- Spring & Fall Semesters-Routine Saturdays required for educational field trips and activities
- Summer College
- Mandatory participation in the 6 Week Summer College program requiring approximately 24 overnight stays at the designated host college campus.
- Paid Time Off (PTO) and generous paid holidays as defined by the
QuESTT Personnel Policy Licensure & Insurance :
Current Oklahoma Driver's License. Current Vehicle Insurance in compliance with the QuESTT, Inc. Policy and Procedures. Required Travel & Vehicle Usage- This position requires travel for professional training and accompanying students on trips.
- Requires routine use of personal vehicle for business purposes.
- Must drive a 15-passenger van for groups of students (when required).
Current Driver's License and Vehicle Insurance Experience:
- Must have 1 year of experience with the youth population.
- Must have 1 year of data entry experience.
- Must have working knowledge of post-secondary education & financial aid (FAFSA) Supervisory Responsibilities
