Cambridge, MA (On-site) Reports to: Chief Executive Officer About the Company An emerging biotechnology company focused on developing innovative biologic therapies for oncology and immune-mediated diseases is seeking a senior business development leader to support corporate growth initiatives. The organization is advancing a pipeline of next-generation therapeutic programs and operates in a highly collaborative, science-driven environment dedicated to bringing novel treatments to patients with significant unmet medical needs. Position Overview The company is seeking an experienced Director of Business Development to help drive strategic growth opportunities through partnerships, licensing transactions, collaborations, and other corporate development initiatives. This individual will play a central role in identifying, evaluating, structuring, and negotiating external opportunities aligned with the organization's long-term strategy. The role works closely with executive leadership and cross-functional scientific teams. Key Responsibilities Lead and support strategic partnering initiatives, including licensing agreements, co-development collaborations, and alliance opportunities with biotechnology and pharmaceutical organizations. Conduct market intelligence and competitive landscape analyses to identify emerging technologies, therapeutic trends, and strategic positioning opportunities. Manage the full transaction process, including opportunity sourcing, scientific and commercial evaluation, financial assessment, due diligence coordination, and contract negotiation. Develop and cultivate external relationships with academic institutions, research organizations, and industry partners to expand collaboration opportunities. Qualifications Minimum of 6 years of experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical business development, corporate strategy, or related functions. Combination of experience in larger pharmaceutical organizations and growth-stage biotechnology environments strongly preferred. Strong scientific understanding of biologics, oncology, immunology, or related therapeutic areas. Advanced degree in a life sciences discipline preferred (Ph.D. or Master's degree). Demonstrated experience negotiating and executing collaborations, licensing agreements, or strategic partnerships. Strong communication, analytical, and relationship-management skills. Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with evolving priorities.
