Our vision is a day when all people impacted by disabilities and our employees live well. The Director of Business Systems and Integration is a strategic, hands-on leader responsible for advancing how technology supports our mission. This newly created role reflects Living Well's commitment to innovation and continuous improvement, with a focus on reimagining how systems, data, and technology can better support our staff and the people we serve. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, this role leads efforts to strengthen and connect systems across the organization—driving automation, improving workflows, and expanding the effective use of data and digital tools. Working in close partnership with leaders across the organization and external IT providers, the Director ensures systems are aligned, scalable, and responsive to evolving needs. This leader plays a key role in shaping how work gets done—reducing administrative burden, improving access to meaningful data, and enabling more efficient, person-centered service delivery—while helping build a more innovative, agile, and future-ready organization. Grounded in Living Well's core values of Advocacy, Community, Leadership, Respect, and Wellness, this leader champions innovation, continuous improvement, and thoughtful use of technology to strengthen organizational impact today and into the future. Key Areas of Accountability for this Position are:
Enterprise Systems & Automation:
Lead organization-wide automation and systems integration efforts across platforms (ADP, MITC, Therap, Giveffect, Microsoft 365). Drive scalable solutions that reduce manual work, streamline workflows, and improve cross-functional efficiency, while overseeing the development of integrations using API and low-code/no-code tools.
Business Systems Strategy & Ownership:
Own the strategy, performance, and roadmap for enterprise systems spanning HR, finance, and operations. Lead system evaluation, selection, and transformation initiatives to ensure systems are aligned with organizational growth and enable strong operational outcomes.
Innovation & Operational Excellence:
Champion continuous improvement through process redesign, automation, and emerging technologies, including AI. Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on improving effectiveness, scalability, and how work gets done across the organization.
Data & Insights Enablement:
Oversee data architecture, governance, and integrity to support informed decision-making. Deliver reporting and dashboards (e.g., Power BI) that enhance transparency and ensure teams have access to timely, actionable insights.
IT Vendor & Infrastructure Leadership:
Lead the relationship with the managed IT provider, setting priorities and ensuring strong performance and accountability. Align IT infrastructure and support with organizational and strategic priorities.
Risk, Compliance & Security:
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and data privacy requirements while partnering to maintain strong security practices and risk mitigation strategies.
Organizational Leadership & Culture:
Build strong cross-functional partnerships and contribute to strategic planning and enterprise initiatives. Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement, and lead through change to support evolving organizational needs. This position is based out of our administrative offices in Mendota Heights, MN. As a member of the Senior Leadership team, and a forward facing position this position is considered an in-person role with the opportunity to work remotely as/when appropriate. Some travel throughout our program sites in the Twin Cities and surrounding area may be required to best meet the needs of the organization.
Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Technology, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience), along with 5+ years of experience in systems support, business systems, operations, or technology-related roles. They bring a strong track record of improving workflows, implementing systems, and supporting integrations across departments. The candidate demonstrates the ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies to solve business challenges and has experience working with cross-functional teams, including supporting non-technical users. They also have working knowledge of reporting tools and data management (e.g., Power BI, Excel, or similar) and experience coordinating with or managing external IT vendors or support partners. Preferred Experience Preferred candidates have experience with system integrations, automation tools, or low-code/no-code platforms, along with familiarity with HR, finance, or program systems such as ADP, MITC, Therap, Giveffect, and Microsoft 365. Experience in healthcare, human services, or other regulated environments is highly valued, as is exposure to data privacy and security practices such as HIPAA. Candidates who have participated in system implementations, upgrades, or process improvement initiatives will stand out, as will those who demonstrate curiosity and interest in emerging technologies, including automation and AI tools. Additional Requirements Candidates must be at least 18 years old, proficient in English (reading, writing, and speaking), and able to pass a DHS background check while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations. A valid driver's license and the ability to be approved as a driver under organizational insurance requirements are also required.
