Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Development to lead our fundraising and relationship-building efforts, fueling our mission-driven initiatives and expanding our impact. In this pivotal role, you will craft innovative development strategies, oversee comprehensive fundraising campaigns, and cultivate meaningful partnerships with donors, community stakeholders, and institutional allies. Your leadership will ensure sustainable growth through effective event planning, digital marketing, and targeted outreach efforts. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with organizational goals, including grant proposal writing and major gift campaigns. Oversee all aspects of event planning and management to maximize engagement and donor participation. Manage relationships with donors, volunteers, partners, and community organizations through proactive relationship management techniques. Lead digital marketing initiatives utilizing platforms such as Mailchimp, Constant Contact, WordPress, and social media management tools to boost visibility and engagement. Coordinate data collection efforts across databases like Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, and CRM software to track donor activity and measure campaign effectiveness. Prepare compelling proposals for grants, sponsorships, and estate planning opportunities to secure diverse funding streams. Supervise the events management team to ensure seamless execution of fundraising events and community outreach activities. Oversee budgeting processes for development projects while ensuring compliance with organizational policies. Collaborate with the marketing team on public relations strategies to enhance the organization's reputation locally and nationally. Conduct research on potential funding sources, industry trends, and best practices in nonprofit management to inform strategic planning efforts. Requirements Proven experience in nonprofit development or fundraising leadership roles with a track record of successful campaign execution. Strong skills in event planning, proposal writing, negotiation, and relationship management. Familiarity with digital marketing tools such as Mailchimp, WordPress, Social Media Management platforms, and email marketing strategies. Experience working with databases like Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, or similar CRM software for data collection and analysis. Knowledge of grant proposal writing processes including research on funding opportunities related to nonprofits or educational institutions. Excellent communication skills with an ability to engage diverse audiences through public relations initiatives. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within budget constraints while maintaining attention to detail. Background in nonprofit management or related fields; university experience is a plus. Knowledge of Wills, Trusts & Estate Law is advantageous for estate planning initiatives. $82,740.16 - $99,644.06 per year
