Director of Development Barton College

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Development, the Director of Development is responsible for executing annual giving strategies, managing a portfolio of lead annual and mid-major donors, and overseeing stewardship activities that support donor retention and growth. This role is a key contributor to the College's annual fund performance and plays an active role in advancing the donor pipeline through consistent outreach, thoughtful stewardship, and campaign execution, contributing to a team-based fundraising approach in which all Advancement staff support the College's philanthropic goals.Essential Functions:
Responsible for the management of Barton's development efforts as it relates to annual giving strategies focused on the whole donor cycle for our donors, alumni, friends, employees, parents, students, and companies.- Execute annual giving strategies across constituencies. Design, implement, and manage all appeal campaigns throughout the fiscal year, including fall, year-end, fiscal year-end, and monthly anniversary appeals. This work will also include campaigns for specialty groups on campus, such as the Bulldog Club and Cultural Arts.
- Support and implement peer-to-peer digital fundraising campaigns, including Clash of the Bulldogs in the fall and Giving Day in the spring.
- Manage a portfolio of lead annual and mid-major donors, utilizing moves management strategies including identification, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and renewal.
- Lead stewardship efforts for all donors, including thank you strategies, Quarterly Impact reporting, and donor recognition initiatives and events.
- Assist in the development and execution of a comprehensive annual fund plan and solicitation calendar.
- Partner with marketing and communications to support fundraising appeals, messaging, and campaign assets.
- Track and report on fundraising performance throughout the fiscal year, including donor participation, retention, and campaign results
- Maintain accurate donor records using Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT and other systems.
- Identify and help qualify prospects to support the major gift pipeline.

Other Responsibilities:
Assist as needed in all fundraising programs and activities of Barton College, and perform other duties as assigned. Provide professional, quality customer service to donors, alumni, volunteers, staff, and other contacts.Qualifications Required Experience:
Bachelor's degree required, and advance degree or CFRE preferred. Minimum of 7-10 years of development experience including demonstrated success in individual giving, corporate giving, alumni giving, volunteer management, and special events fundraising and management. Ability to manage team members. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse constituencies, as well as good judgement and ability to handle confidential / sensitive information with discretion. Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. Experience with moves management including prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. Experience with digital fundraising, peer-to-peer fundraising, managing website promotions and giving days. Experience with fundraising data management systems; Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT is highly desirable. Optimistic attitude, self-motivated, and eager to be part of an emerging team.
