Executive Leadership Dinner Program, Potomac Officers Club, Executive Mosaic Media, and ArchIntel. Position Overview The Director of Events is a leadership role responsible for overseeing the event coordinators and day-to-day operations supporting the Potomac Officers Club and Executive Leadership Dinner Programs. Reporting directly to the CEO, this position manages and mentors a team of event coordinators while also maintaining hands-on responsibility for sponsor relationships, program execution, and cross-functional coordination. The ideal candidate is an experienced events professional with demonstrated supervisory skills and the ability to drive team performance in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Management Directly supervise, mentor, and manage event coordinators supporting the Potomac Officers Club and Executive Leadership Dinner Programs. Set clear performance expectations, provide ongoing coaching and feedback, and conduct performance reviews. Delegate tasks effectively across the team, ensuring workloads are balanced and deadlines are consistently met. Serve as an escalation point for the team, resolving operational challenges and removing barriers to execution. Report program status, team performance metrics, and event outcomes to the CEO on a regular basis. Support the onboarding and training of new event coordinators as the team grows. Sponsor Engagement & Revenue Serve as the primary point of contact for all sponsors, ensuring an excellent and consistent experience throughout the event lifecycle. Oversee the full sponsorship cycle from initial engagement and contracting through fulfillment and post-event debrief. Conduct kickoff, check-in, and debrief calls with sponsors; ensure all promised deliverables and benefits are fulfilled. Develop and implement strategies to increase sponsorship revenue through upselling and long-term partnership development. Implement retention strategies and collect sponsor feedback to continuously improve the sponsorship experience. Program & Event Coordination Oversee event planning and logistics execution for both the Potomac Officers Club and Executive Leadership Dinner Programs, ensuring high-quality event delivery. Serve as the primary liaison for Executive Leadership Dinner Program Chairmen and speakers, conducting chairman kickoff, planning, speaker prep, and debrief calls. Develop and manage event timelines, run-of-show documents, and post-event reporting. Travel locally to member events as required (primarily Northern Virginia). Marketing & Social Media Develop and oversee strategies to increase sponsor and member participation on social media platforms. Collaborate with sponsors and internal teams to create engaging promotional content. Ensure consistent brand representation across all event and sponsor communications. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent event planning experience). A minimum of 4 - 5 years of experience in event management, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or team lead capacity. Proven ability to manage, develop, and hold accountable a team of direct reports. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; comfortable engaging with C-suite executives, sponsors, and internal stakeholders. Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously. Highly proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM/event management software. Willingness to travel locally to member events (primarily Northern Virginia). Preferred Experience in the federal government contracting (GovCon) or association/membership industry. Experience managing sponsor or partner relationships in a B2B environment.
Compensation & Benefits Salary:
$120,000 annually + variable bonus = $140,000 TTC Health, dental, and vision insurance Retirement plan Paid time off Standard hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM (occasional evening hours as events require) Work location: Vienna, VA 22182 (on-site required)
