Job Description:

Staff/Senior Accountant - Cash Application & Loan Accounting | Bethesda, MD Responsibilities Apply incoming cash receipts (ACH, wire, lockbox) to the correct loan accounts and contracts Accurately allocate payments across principal, interest, and fees per loan agreements Reconcile cash activity against loan schedules, servicing systems, and internal records Investigate and resolve discrepancies - short pays, timing differences, misapplied cash Partner with portfolio management, operations, and accounting teams on loan-level reporting Support process and system integration in a high-volume, fast-moving environment Qualifications 3-5 years in cash application, accounts receivable, or loan/contract-based accounting Experience reconciling high transaction volumes against underlying agreements or schedules Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) Backgrounds in banking, lending, private credit, equipment leasing, or mortgage servicing preferred Detail-oriented, independent, and comfortable in a process-heavy environment
