Full-Time Travel Required Between Multiple Healthcare Campuses Position Overview A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Director of Facilities / Plant Operations to oversee facilities management, plant operations, construction coordination, safety initiatives, and regulatory compliance across multiple hospital campuses. Reporting directly to executive leadership, this role is responsible for ensuring operational excellence, infrastructure reliability, and compliance within complex healthcare environments. The ideal candidate will bring extensive healthcare facilities leadership experience, strong knowledge of regulatory and life safety standards, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary plant operations teams. Key Responsibilities Facilities & Plant Operations Direct all plant operations activities across multiple healthcare facilities Oversee maintenance and operation of: Buildings and grounds Utility systems Non-clinical equipment Environmental and safety systems Ensure facilities support safe, efficient, and compliant patient care operations Manage preventative maintenance programs and operational improvement initiatives Monitor infrastructure performance and facility readiness Construction & Project Management Lead planning and execution of construction, renovation, and capital improvement projects Coordinate external contractors, vendors, and facility service providers Oversee contracted clinical equipment management services Ensure projects comply with healthcare operational and safety standards Maintain project timelines, budgets, and quality standards Regulatory Compliance & Safety Lead compliance efforts related to: Joint Commission standards Life Safety regulations Environmental Care Plans Healthcare safety requirements Conduct facility safety audits and compliance assessments Prepare facilities for regulatory inspections and accreditation surveys Maintain current knowledge of healthcare facilities regulations and standards Leadership & Administration Provide strategic leadership to Plant Operations and Facilities teams Develop departmental goals, operational strategies, and budgets Support organizational performance metrics and process improvement initiatives Collaborate with executive leadership and department managers Foster strong cross-functional communication and team engagement Required Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree required in one of the following areas: Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Business Administration Security Management Industrial Safety Administration of Justice Related field OR Associate degree in a related discipline with: 10+ years of plant operations management experience Healthcare safety experience Certifications & Licensure Current valid driver's license required Class "A" Operating Engineers License preferred Experience Minimum 10 years of plant operations and construction experience required Prior healthcare facilities experience required Strong background in: Healthcare safety and security Regulatory compliance Life Safety programs Environmental Care Plans Joint Commission survey readiness Union environment experience preferred Leadership Experience Minimum 7 years of leadership or administrative management experience required Preferred Qualifications Strong healthcare facilities leadership background Experience managing multiple hospital campuses Knowledge of hospital operational metrics and compliance reporting Excellent organizational and project management skills Strong verbal and written communication abilities Demonstrated career stability and leadership success For more details contact at hdavda@navitashealth.com or Call / Text at 516-862-1169.
