Director of Intake - Behavioral Health 35900 Euclid Avenue, Willoughby, OH 44094 Full-time Full-time Director of Intake Opportunity - Originally established in 1898, Windsor Laurelwood has served the community for over 125 years, providing high-quality behavioral health and substance use treatment services to adults, adolescents, and children. https://windsorlaurelwood.com/ The Director of Intake is accountable for directing the Assessment and Referral activities at the facility. This position provides directions to staff in the provision of psychiatric assessment services, including clinical evaluations, crisis intervention and referrals. This position interfaces closely with the medical staff, other department heads and administration, treatment team, external case managers, managed care organizations and functions as a liaison with other hospital departments. Responsibilities Direct the screening of potential patients for admission into the program and initiate the integrated assessment process. Assist administration, physicians and clinical staff in the assessment of pending admits to determine appropriateness of level of care and communicates pending admissions to the Nursing Department. Use the approved admission criteria and make decisions concerning the level of care for treatment using the least restrictive level appropriate. The plan for episode of care is initiated at admission to all levels of care. Function as a liaison between physicians and families, coordinates with transportation services and other mental health facilities to organize the admission procedures. Plan, coordinate and evaluate direct and indirect facility assessments and patient admissions. Ensure that all vital patient assessment information is referred accurately to the attending physicians, and that patient historical information obtained is complete to facilitate an accurate determination for the appropriate level of care. Ensure that third-party payors are notified of, or participate in, decisions about appropriate transitions between levels of care. Coordinate assessments of all patients who are potential involuntary admissions. Provides guidance to community resources available to person inappropriate or unavailable for admission but who are requiring further guidance and referrals. Provide services to current referral sources to assure their satisfaction and continued associations. Provide clinical pre-certification information to patients, managed care companies, insurance companies and other third-party reviewers to establish the length of stay or number of certified days. Ensure the department meets The Joint Commission, Medicare and Federal and state regulatory requirements. Ensure that a system is developed to provide continuity of care and communication with family and appropriate referral sources, and ensure the system is evaluated and reviewed regularly.

Requirements Education:
Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, counseling, mental health, or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in
Nursing Experience :
A minimum of five (5) years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting desirable. Working knowledge of the mental health field and experience in clinical interviewing, patient assessment, family treatment, treatment planning, communicating with external review organizations or comparable entities and working effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.
Licensure:
RN, PCC, LISW or other applicable license is preferred.
