Director of Nursing (RN) Come join the team at Northcrest Community, voted the

in Story County! Northcrest Community is a vibrant, active retirement community offering a full continuum of premier services to the older adults who call Northcrest home. Northcrest Community is seeking a dynamic and resident care-driven Director of Nursing to provide clinical leadership and operational oversight for our Health Services areas, including the Health Center, Assisted Living, Heartwood House, and Home Health. This position plays a key role in ensuring the delivery of compassionate, high-quality resident care while supporting compliance, staff development, and clinical excellence across the continuum. The ideal candidate is an experienced Registered Nurse leader who values teamwork, accountability, communication, and person-centered care. This individual will work closely with the Director of Health Services/Administrator, interdisciplinary teams, residents, families, and clinical staff to promote exceptional outcomes and a positive workplace culture. Essential Responsibilities Provide leadership, support, and direction to clinical staff across multiple care settings Oversee daily clinical operations to ensure quality care and regulatory compliance Support staffing, scheduling, employee development, and performance management Participate in hiring, orientation, training, and retention of nursing staff Guide individualized resident care planning and interdisciplinary communication Monitor infection prevention and control practices Participate in survey preparedness, quality improvement initiatives, and policy implementation Collaborate with physicians, consultants, pharmacies, residents, and family members to coordinate care and resolve concerns Participate in on-call rotation and provide clinical support as needed Qualifications Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa Graduate of an accredited nursing program Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, hospital, or related healthcare setting Strong understanding of nursing regulations, clinical practices, and long-term care standards Current CPR certification Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills Why Northcrest?
