Director of Nursing (DON) / Health & Wellness Director Charter Senior Living of Dartmouth -
Dartmouth, MA Salary:
$105,000-$115,000/year Lead Clinical Excellence With Purpose Charter Senior Living of Dartmouth is seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing (DON) / Health & Wellness Director to lead our clinical operations and wellness team. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring high-quality resident care, maintaining regulatory compliance, supporting staff development, and creating a culture centered around compassion, accountability, and excellence. We're looking for a clinical leader who can balance: Resident care and outcomes Team leadership and staffing Compliance and survey readiness Family communication Operational support and collaboration What You'll Own Oversee all clinical operations for Assisted Living and Memory Care residents Lead, mentor, and support caregiving and wellness staff Manage resident assessments, care plans, and clinical documentation Ensure compliance with Massachusetts state regulations and company standards Oversee medication management and resident wellness programs Coordinate staffing, scheduling, training, and performance management Partner with the Executive Director and department leaders to support overall community success Communicate professionally with residents, families, physicians, and outside providers Maintain readiness for surveys, audits, and compliance reviews What We're Looking For Current Massachusetts RN or LPN license required Current CPR certification required 3-5 years of Assisted Living, Memory Care, or Long-Term Care experience preferred Previous leadership or management experience strongly preferred Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) preferred Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to lead teams while maintaining strong resident and family relationships Available for occasional nights/weekends and community on-call responsibilities The Ideal Candidate You are someone who: Leads with both compassion and accountability Can manage clinical operations while building strong team culture Is organized, proactive, and calm under pressure Understands both compliance and resident-centered care Thrives in a collaborative senior living environment Compensation & Benefits $105,000-$115,000/year Paid training, PTO, and holiday pay Medical, dental, vision insurance and more Career growth opportunities Stable scheduling and leadership support Team-focused environment where your voice matters Physical Requirements Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs Ability to assist with resident transfers (up to 80 lbs with support equipment) Standing, walking, bending, and movement throughout the shift Potential exposure to infectious diseases and healthcare environments Why Charter Senior Living Our mission: To Enhance the Human Spirit —for residents and employees alike.
