Job Description

Category Pharmacy-Director of Pharmacy Job Type Contract Lead pharmacy operations as an Interim Pharmacist in Charge/Director of Pharmacy at a behavioral health inpatient facility located in Council Bluffs, IA. This contract assignment starts on May 18 and will continue until a permanent hire is placed. The role offers a Monday to Friday schedule, working 6 hours per day, providing a focused and manageable workweek.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee pharmacy operations ensuring compliance with regulations and quality standards. Manage medication repackaging processes, preferably using Milt/Medi-dose or HCL systems. Supervise the loading of drugs into automated dispensing machines such as Omnicell. Monitor and run restock reports to maintain inventory accuracy. Collaborate with clinical staff to support patient care needs.
Desired Experience:
Active Iowa pharmacist license is required. Experience working with Omnicell automated dispensing systems is strongly preferred. Familiarity with repackaging medications using Milt, Medi-dose, or HCL systems. Basic understanding of automated pharmacy systems and inventory management. Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a pharmacy setting.
