Director of Safety & Risk Management Job Summary:
The Director of Safety & Risk Management is responsible for leading and integrating all systems related toanizational risk, including safety, emergency preparedness, facilities, technology (IT), and transportation. This role ensures that all environments, systems, and operations support the health, safety, and security of children, families, and staff. The Director ensures that safety and infrastructure systems are proactively managed, consistently implemented, and aligned across all service areas. This role also ensures that procurement activities related to facilities, transportation, technology, and safety systems are conducted in full compliance with all regulatory authorities. As a member of Wyoming Child and Family's Program Design and Management (PDM) team, this position strengthens the agency's CORE—Compliance, Oversight, Relationships, and Execution. CORE Responsibilities All duties will comply with all rules, regulations, and practices of the agency and its regulating authorities. WCFD standards, DFS licensing, NAEYC guidelines, Wyoming Division of Disabilities regulations, and WCFD policies. All employees will adhere to the mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures of WCFD. Builds a culture of safety, accountability, and proactive risk awareness across theanization Ensures compliance with regulating authorities in regards to safety, transportation, risk, and technology Oversees incident reporting systems, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in accordance with licensing and federal requirements Analyzes incident data and trends to identify systemic risks and implement corrective actions Maintains and monitors compliance with emergency preparedness plans, drills, and documentation Ensures all facilities, transportation, and technology systems meet regulatory and safety standards Reviews and monitors contracts to ensure compliance, performance, and cost-effectiveness Oversees compliance related to environmental safety (lead, water testing, SDS, etc.) Oversees procurement processes for facilities, transportation, technology, and safety-related services, including bidding, vendor selection, and contract compliance ensuring all procurement activities within assigned oversight areas are compliant Collaborates with the Chief Fiscal Officer and fiscal staff to ensure alignment between procurement practices and fiscal controls Supports audit readiness by ensuring procurement files and documentation meet federal and state requirements Establishes agency-wide risk management systems, policies, and monitoring protocols Oversees preventative maintenance systems and long-term capital planning Implements and monitors safety systems across all sites ensuring consistency in safety practices across all centers Supports center leadership in responding to safety concerns and incidents Leads response to critical incidents, ensuring proper escalation and follow-up Aligns safety protocols with daily operations at the center level Ensures alignment between component plans and center-level implementation Identifies and eliminates gaps, duplication, and inefficiencies in safety systems Provides leadership and supervision of facilities, transportation, IT, and safety systems Supports development and delivery of training, coaching, and technical assistance systems Represents WCFD with community partners, state agencies, and federal stakeholders as assigned Collaborates with PDM Directors, Center Directors, and external agencies as required (licensing, fire, law enforcement, etc) maintaining strong partnerships with community safety and regulatory entities Supports agency-wide planning, program design, and continuous improvement efforts Assists in hiring and supervision of applicable staff Promotes positive public relations within the program and community Participates in child and family outreach and recruitment efforts Ensure ability to perform job functions safely, with or without reasonable accommodations Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Board or its designee.Required Skills/Abilities:
Must be able to work with families and children through birth through age 5 Ability to translate regulatory requirements into operational systems Demonstrated ability to analyze data and translate into actionable growth opportunities Ability to work across disciplines and support integrated services Demonstrated ability to lead at a component level across multiple program areas Reliable,anized, and detail oriented Must possess strong problem-solving skills Demonstrated ability to follow both written and verbal instructions accurately Excellent interpersonal skills are required to collaborate with individuals with diverse ranges of personalities, backgrounds, and knowledge bases Strong communication skills are essential to interact with staff, children, families, and the broader community. Must have effective stress management strategies and the ability to maintain composure in challenging situations. Flexibility is key; the ability to adapt to changing daily routines is required. Bilingual candidates are preferred.Education and Experience:
Education (required): Bachelor's degree in risk management, Health & Safety, Business Administration, Emergency Management, Information Systems, or related field Education (preferred): Master's Degree in applicable field Experience (required): Minimum 3-5 years in facility, information, technology, risk, or transportation management Experience (preferred): 1-3 years of supervisory or program management experience including program operations, compliance, and systems improvement Must be willing to attain additional training or certifications, which may be required by Wyoming Child and Family Development, Inc. WCFD will only accept college degrees from accredited institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.Physical Requirements:

Ability to work in air-conditioned buildings and under fluorescent lighting. Must be able to climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or reach, to retrieve materials and supplies from ground level to a height of at least 5 ft. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Must be able to assist children in emergency situations and provide first aid when needed.
