Full-time Primary Job Duties:
Leadership and Accountability:
Lead and mentor direct reports to achieve sales goals, holding team members accountable for their essential duties and responsibilities. Manage incentive programs to motivate and engage sales team members effectively.
Business Development:
Create and maintain new accounts with groups for yearly functions, fostering long-term relationships that contribute to revenue growth. Continually target and prospect for new business opportunities, exploring diverse market segments.
Market Promotion:
Promote the story of the Whim Hospitality brand and its properties in the market to increase visibility and attract business. Adjust sales strategies according to changes in market and business trends to optimize property success.
Sales Strategy Development:
Develop and implement effective sales strategies that align with the company's goals and market conditions Regularly collaborate with the marketing team to devise innovative and effective marketing strategies.
Yield Management:
Utilize yield management techniques to negotiate profitable room rates and function space commitments, enhancing financial performance. Manage large accounts and specialty groups, providing detailed support throughout the event planning process.
Account Management Oversight:
Supervise the sales team, and customer satisfaction post-contract signing. Develop strong customer relations through consistent and effective communication.
Client Needs and Profiles:
Maintain an effective trace system for customer profiles, capturing key information to meet client needs and enhance account service. Ensure prompt follow-up on all customer inquiries and needs, exemplifying exceptional service standards.
Team Collaboration:
Foster a positive and involved team attitude across all departments, maintaining open communication for optimal performance. Exhibit professionalism and a polished appearance at all times, representing the brand effectively.
Education:
Bachelor's degree or higher; a degree in Business, Hospitality, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of management experience in sales, with luxury hotel sales experience preferred.
Sales Skills:
Proven track record of meeting sales targets, growing revenues, and managing a sales budget effectively.
Technical Proficiency:
Knowledge of Salesforce and other sales management tools is highly desirable.
Hospitality Knowledge:
Experience in weddings, hotel settings, and the broader hospitality industry is a plus. The Director of Sales is responsible for leading the sales initiatives across Whim Event Rentals, as well as corporate strategies. This role focuses on achieving sales goals, building strong relationships with clients, and promoting the brand to enhance overall profitability. The Director of Sales will develop and execute strategic sales plans, manage the sales team, and ensure superior customer service to drive revenue growth.
