This executive-level role is critical to the continued growth and profitability of the organization, reporting directly to the President as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team and working as a peer to the Director of Operations. The DSF will have comprehensive oversight of Sales, Business Development, Service Contracts, and Accounting/Finance functions . This role requires a visionary leader with a strong background in sales, business acumen, and financial management, capable of driving strategic initiatives and optimizing operational efficiencies across the organization. Key Responsibilities Strategy and Leadership Develop and execute the overall business strategy in collaboration with other Senior Leadership Team members to achieve aggressive revenue growth, market share expansion, and profitability targets. Provide clear, compelling leadership and direction to the Sales, Contracts, and Accounting departments, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture. Report financial and operational performance metrics, forecasts, and strategic initiatives directly to the President. Serve as an executive peer to the Director of Operations, ensuring seamless coordination between commercial and operational functions (e.g., service delivery, installations). Sales and Business Development Oversight Directly manage and mentor the Sales Manager, providing strategic guidance on market positioning, key account management, and sales process optimization. Drive initiatives for new business development, identifying strategic markets, opportunities, and partnerships for power generator sales and comprehensive service contracts. Establish and monitor key sales performance indicators (KPIs) and implement accountability standards to ensure the achievement of sales goals. Contracts Oversight Directly manage and mentor the Contracts Manager, ensuring all bids, RFPs (Request for Proposals), and renewal documentation are processed accurately and in a timely manner. Oversee the management and growth of the service contract portfolio, ensuring high retention rates and profitable contract terms. Ensure the accurate analysis and inclusion of all Statements of Work (SOWs), parts costs, labor costs, and operational overhead in the preparation of all contract bids. Establish and enforce protocols for comprehensive and accurate system entry (CRM, ERP, or contract management system) of all contract-related information, including terms, costs, and renewal dates. Financial Management and Accounting Oversight Directly manage and mentor the Accounting Manager, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting. Oversee all financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis functions to support strategic decision-making. Maintain strict control over company assets, expenditures, and working capital. Ensure the integrity of all accounting records, internal controls, and adherence to regulatory requirements. Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities for cost reduction, and areas for improved financial performance. • Works with Business Enablement Manager to ensure company IT and BI are executed to meet the needs of the company
Required Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Sales, or a related field. An MBA is highly desirable.
Experience:
Minimum of 7+ years of progressive leadership experience, with significant P&L responsibility, ideally within a sales and service organization. Experience in the power generation, industrial equipment, or related technical sales industry is a strong asset.
Management:
Proven track record of managing and developing direct reports, specifically in both sales and financial management disciplines.
Contract Management:
Demonstrated experience in the oversight of complex service contract administration, pricing/bidding, and renewal processes.
Skills:
Exceptional financial acumen, strategic planning capabilities, and proficiency in analyzing business performance metrics. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Why Join Us?
