Job Description

About the Role Mountain Lake Academy is a therapeutically driven educational community dedicated to serving vulnerable students. We focus on holistic development, combining experiential learning with academic excellence in a nurturing environment. Our mission is to empower students to reach their full potential and become confident leaders. Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Director of Special Education to lead our special education programs and serve as the Committee on Special Education (CSE) Chairperson. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of special education services, ensuring compliance with legal standards while fostering an inclusive learning environment. Your leadership will empower staff, collaborate with families, and advocate for students' needs to help them reach their full potential. Lead the planning, coordination, and administration of special education programs aligned with district and state regulations. Serve as the Chairperson for the Committee on Special Education (CSE), facilitating meetings to develop individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities. Mentor special education staff, including teachers, therapists, and administrative personnel. Develop and review curriculum modifications and accommodations tailored to diverse learner needs. Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, families, and external agencies to promote inclusive practices and ensure compliance.
Requirements Certification:
New York State Certification in Students with Disabilities (SWD) .
Expertise:
Deep knowledge of NYS special education regulations and the ability to navigate complex CSE environments. Mountain Lake Academy is an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. Pay:
$60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
