We are seeking a visionary leader and team player who will bring excitement for youth and intergenerational programming. We are looking for a faithful and engaging person who will help our youth, young adults, and families build a faith that lasts a lifetime through learning, service, and fellowship. SUMMARY The Director of Youth, Young Adult (YA), and Family Ministries functions as a vital member of the ministry team. Working closely with the pastor, staff, and committees, this individual will innovate and implement a holistic faith formation program that responds to the unique needs of a high-achieving, socially-conscious community.STRATEGIC PRIORITIES
Relational Ministry:
Proactively build trust-based relationships with children, youth, and young adults, serving as a mentor and guide while responding to the changing ministry opportunities within the community.Innovative Programming:
Collaborate with the Youth, Christian Faith Formation, and Evangelism committees to grow current programs into deep, service-oriented experiences for high school, Confirmation, and younger children.Leadership Development:
Recruit, coach, and develop adults within the congregation to serve as committed mentors; specifically overseeing the Sunday Funday teaching staff (3 years through 5th grade).The Bridge Ministry:
Design and implement strategies to maintain connection with high school graduates and young professionals (ages 18-30), fostering space for them to explore faith in the context of their early careers.Events and Activities:
Plan, organize, and lead youth camps, conferences, and summer service learning trips that emphasize intergenerational relationships.Stewardship and Space:
Create and operate within defined budgets, lead fundraising for high-impact activities, and maintain the Youth Room as an inviting, functional sanctuary for ministry.QUALIFICATIONS
- College degree or equivalent experience—professional youth leadership or camp experience is a major asset.
Theological Depth:
Strong knowledge of and comfort with ELCA Lutheran theology or other progressive theology; must be a committed advocate for LGBTQIA+ inclusion.Organizational Prowess:
Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills to manage complex schedules and volunteer teams.Team Collaboration:
Ability to work as a cohesive member of the Prince of Peace staff and alongside lay leadership.Professional Integrity:
A clear sense of ethical limits, confidentiality, and age-appropriate behaviors.Experience:
A minimum of three years of experience in professional youth or young adult ministry is preferred.POSITION DETAILS
- Full-time position with compensation based on education and experience (base salary is $70,000)
- Comprehensive benefits including medical and dental insurance, pension contribution, and 3 weeks paid vacation.
- Professional development stipend and Sabbatical Options included.
- Flexible office hours permitted to allow for the evening and weekend commitments inherent in youth ministry.
- Regular attendance at Sunday worship is required.
- Candidate must pass a background check.

Digital Disciple-making:
Media and tech savvy with the ability to engage youth in digital spaces.Community Organizing:
