Director, Summer Camp

Job Description:

As the Summer Camp Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our summer camp, ensuring a safe, fun, and enriching experience for all campers and staff. You will lead a team of counselors and staff members, promoting a positive and energetic camp culture. Your leadership will inspire and guide our camp community to fulfill our mission of providing a supportive and educational environment for children.

Key Responsibilities:

• Program Management:

  Follow & Implement the ALM Camp Schedule & Blueprint.

• Staff Leadership:

  supervise camp staff, fostering a collaborative and enthusiastic team environment.

• Camper Safety and Well-being:

  Ensure the highest standards of safety and well-being for all campers, including maintaining appropriate staff-to-camper ratios and implementing effective risk management practices.

• Communication:

  Serve as the primary point of contact for parents and guardians, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally. Maintain open and effective communication channels with staff and camp families.

• Administrative Duties:

  Manage camp logistics, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation. Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Community Building:

Cultivate a welcoming and inclusive camp culture that encourages camper engagement and promotes positive relationships among campers, staff, and the broader camp community.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in camp administration or a related field, with a strong track record of leadership and program development.
• CDA (Child Development Associate) credentials are highly recommended but not mandatory. A background in education, recreation, or child development is advantageous.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and a solutions-oriented mindset.
• Certified in First Aid/CPR or willing to obtain certification prior to camp start. Why Join Us?
