The Division of Student Affairs at The University of Mississippi is seeking a dynamic and talented
Director of UMatter:
Support for Every Student. The Division of Student Affairs enhances and complements the academic mission of the University by providing services, programs, and facilities that foster student growth, engagement, and success. With more than 200 staff members, the division serves over 23,000 students across the Oxford campus through programs and services that support student success, well-being, access and opportunity, involvement, community engagement, and leadership. The mission of Student Affairs is to facilitate a holistic, student-centered experience that nurtures the growth, development, and talents of every student in preparation for a lifetime of learning, leadership, and success. The individual serving in this position will play a crucial role in advancing a holistic, student-centered case management model that promotes student well-being, persistence, and success across on-campus and off-campus populations. . This position reports to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Dean of Students. This position provides leadership, vision, and strategic direction for student support and advocacy areas within Student Affairs. Creates, implements, and interprets departmental policies, directs case management related to crisis response and students of concern, develops and manages departmental budget and funding sources, and provides guidance and supervision to staff.
Job Description:
Provides leadership, vision, and strategic direction for the student support and advocacy area. Coordinates after-hours on-call rotation for crisis response, students of concern, and/or sexual violence-related matters. Creates, implements, and interprets departmental policies. Provides direction regarding departmental assessment strategies to gauge effectiveness of programs and services. Directs case management related to crisis response, students of concern, and/or sexual violence-related matters. Oversees assessment of situations involving students of concern and determines appropriate courses of action. Interfaces with parents, faculty, and staff in an effort to address issues related to students of concern. Develops and manages departmental budget and funding sources. Provides guidance and supervision to staff.
