Job Description
Overview East Fairview Church (EFC) is an independent congregation rooted in Anabaptist heritage. Our shared mission—"Living with Jesus Together so Others May Know Him"—shapes everything we do. We are seeking a Discipleship Associate Pastor who will shepherd, disciple, and equip the EFC family—with a particular focus on men—toward spiritual maturity in Christ. This person will build meaningful relationships, strengthen existing ministries, preach and teach the Word, and help the church grow in its commitment to discipleship, evangelism, and service. This position is intended to be a temporary, not a permanent position. While the exact timing will depend on the Holy Spirit's leading, we anticipate this role serving for approximately two to five years. Key Responsibilities 1) Preaching & Teaching - The Discipleship Associate Pastor will share regularly in the preaching and teaching ministry of the church, including: Preaching in Sunday worship services on a rotating basis with the pastoral team Teaching in Sunday school, small groups, and mid-week ministries (e.g., Ignite) Developing and delivering biblically grounded content that addresses the spiritual needs of men and the broader congregation Equipping others to teach and lead through example, mentoring, and training 2) Men's Ministry Leadership - This role carries primary responsibility for vision and oversight of men's ministry at

Cast and sustain a clear vision for men's spiritual growth and discipleship Develop and lead activities, programs, and service opportunities that foster fellowship, growth, and accountability among men Build genuine, ongoing relationships with men in the EFC family and surrounding community Provide pastoral care to men through counsel, prayer, visitation, and consistent communication Maintain up-to-date contact information for men within the church and community 3) Discipleship & Church Life - Working alongside EFC Leadership, this person will: Help plan, coordinate, and lead Sunday worship, small groups, and mid-week ministries Assist the Gifts Discernment and Discipleship Ministry Teams in identifying, recruiting, and equipping leaders and teachers Serve as an active communication link and resource between ministry teams and the broader EFC family 4) Pastoral Care & Community Outreach Coordinate with Deacons and EFC Ministry Staff to provide visitation and care for those unable to attend services Plan and lead fellowship activities that strengthen community bonds within EFC and extend hospitality to those outside it Championing an outreach orientation across all ministry efforts, recognizing evangelism as integral to discipleship 5) Ministry Administration & Support Assist the EFC Ministry Staff and Leaders Team in the daily operations of EFC ministries Lead, mentor, and develop ministry staff and leaders, strengthening leadership effectiveness. Oversee purchasing and budgeting for men's ministry materials Coordinate publicity and communication for ministry programs Utilize broader Christian resources to promote training and development opportunities for leaders and volunteers Qualifications A clear and demonstrated calling to pastoral ministry and discipleship A passion for preaching, teaching, and the spiritual development of men Alignment with EFC's beliefs, values, and Anabaptist heritage Strong relational, organizational, and communication skills A servant's heart with a visible, active presence in the life of the church Commitment to ongoing personal, spiritual, and professional growth Compensation The following maximum compensation package has been established for this position, with compensation subject to applicants' experience and qualifications.Salary:
$70,000 annuallyAdditional Allowances:
