The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, able to work independently or as part of a team, with excellent customer service and organizational skills, and a willingness to learn and drive efficiencies. Responsibilities Compiles and maintains a list of available trucks Assigns vehicles/trucks to workload according to factors such as body type, driver ability, and seniority Prepares delivery tickets and related shipping documents and assigns drivers for scheduled deliveries Directs the activities of drivers using the Dispatch software Communicates with customers, taking orders for aggregate products Quotes prices and takes orders for COD customers, often recommending the type and quantity of material to be used. Enters orders into Dispatch software Records any information pertinent to the delivery of the loads, such as holding time, whether a person is present on the job site, etc. Confers with various plants to determine product availability Uses maps to determine job site locations Maintains records of mileage, fuel used, hours worked, and revenue for each driver Knowledge, skills , and abilities Experience in a fast-paced dispatch environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong problem-solving skills Good data entry skills Ability to process paperwork associated with the delivery of loads Time management skills Customer Service oriented Ability to multitask and prioritize Proficient in Microsoft Office Familiar with stone quarries, sand and gravel plants, etc in the MD, DE, and PA area Schedule Average shift 9-10 hours Monday to Friday No weekends •Compensation is negotiable depending on the experience of the job applicant•
