Oncor (together with its subsidiaries) operates the largest transmission and distribution system in Texas, delivering power to nearly 4 million homes and businesses and operating more than 144,000 miles of transmission and distribution lines in Texas. Summary The Distribution Materials Specialist determines and prioritizes which jobs will be kitted or filled internally or externally. Has direct interaction with suppliers and vendors to determine needs. Maintains appropriate inventory levels. Ensures environmental and governmental records are completed timely and filed according to regulations. Has direct interaction with engineering, construction, and suppliers to determine needs. Maintains appropriate inventory levels. Determine what work will be performed by contractors. Work with logistics team to ensure material is delivered safely, accurately, and in a timely manner. Key Roles & Responsibilities Accurately completes, files, and maintains required governmental, Sarbanes Oxley (SOX), and environmental data. Ensures appropriate inventory levels. Ensures daily, weekly, and monthly required tasks are accomplished for all storerooms within their established area of responsibility. Set up and maintain storm restoration staging areas. Utilize tools as it pertains to inventory management. Operate from multiple locations. Kits material for projects and inventory replenishment using Maximo and Velocity Warehouse Management System. Maintains ownership of kitted jobs from origination to delivery destination. Monitor Smartsheet order requests to kit for assigned areas and communicate with stakeholders regarding order status. Primary point of contact for assigned kitting locations. Maintains communication with warehouse personnel on kitted jobs in progress. Assist in scheduling and planning of Transmission and Distribution (T&D) outbound logistics operations. Checks the accuracy and application appropriateness of requested material. Resolves and assist material issues with external and internal stakeholders. Supports bulk orderings in Spring and Fall by creating Purchase Requisitions (PRs) a nd tracking Purchase Orders (POs). Supports Distribution Automation (DA) program, System Resiliency Plan (SRP) and other special construction projects. Handles email box and incoming calls for Assigned Locations. Responds to call-out schedule to support emergency and storms for T&D. Docks material and resolve inventory issues. Participates in annual inventory counts for T&D. Participates in monthly Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) cycle counts for T&D. Supports T&D system warehousing technical applications, Maximo and Velocity. Monitors system T&D inventory levels and make adjustments as required to meet inventory value objectives. Maintains knowledge of various materials, manufacturers, product description and application. Maintains professional and effective relationship with external and internal stakeholders. Provides subject matter expertise, recommendations, and field support for Oncor construction and maintenance activities. Ensure compliance, accuracy, and alignment to Supply Chain management's performance expectations. Has knowledge of T&D construction and maintenance activities. Other duties and special projects as assigned. Performs all essential aspects and functions of the job as well as any other specific job requirements.Skills:
Strong customer service and project management skill. Strong written and oral communication. Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment. Capability of Microsoft Office suite.Education and Experience Education:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required. Applicants with a Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Science (AS), Bachelor of Science (BS), Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Supply Chain or Logistics are encouraged to apply.Experience:
Five years-experience in warehouses/store rooms OR a minimum of two years experience in Supply Chain (Procurement or Logistics) can also be accepted. Experience and understanding of Maximo and Warehouse Management applications. Experience using IT Applications. Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Warehouse management system (WMS), and cloud-based shared workspace. Demonstrates awareness of conditions that affect employee and or public safety.
