This position will be responsible for assisting the Head Coach of Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving/Aquatic Director in all aspects of coaching, recruiting, and administering within the swimming & diving program as well as aquatic facility and lifeguard management. Implements coaching strategies and methods to help student-athletes' growth in athletic, interpersonal, academic, and teamwork skills; analyzes performance of team and adjusts strategies as needed; plans and conducts practices and other activities in preparation for competition; and actively recruits competitive and qualified individuals. Assists with the management of the team budget; monitors expenditures to ensure that proscribed limitations are adhered; ensures that all expenditures are properly documented and in compliance with university and NCAA regulations. Helps identify and develop team strategy for recruitment; analyzes future needs; creates promotional strategy for contacting and recruiting prospective student athletes; develops promotional correspondence and materials for distribution to prospective recruits; conducts recruiting calls, trips and activities. The incumbent will also have secondary department and physical education administrative responsibilities including scheduling pool rentals, supervising the lifeguard staff, and assisting with rec center facility management. Bachelor's degree required; two years of coaching experience preferably at the collegiate level; strong administrative, organizational, and communication skills; ability to recruit and evaluate prospective student-athletes; organize official visits including assigning hosts, and create itineraries while adhering to all NCAA Division III regulations. Current certification as an American Red Cross (or equivalent) Lifeguard Instructor is highly recommended. Knowledge of Hy-Tek Software and Divemeets.com is desirable as well.
