Job Description

DME Delivery Technician Position Summary We are seeking a reliable, compassionate, and customer-focused DME Delivery Technician to join our team at one of the nation's leading providers of home respiratory services. In this essential role, you will deliver, set up, and educate patients on life-improving respiratory equipment (oxygen concentrators, portable oxygen systems, CPAP/BiPAP machines, nebulizers, ventilators, and related supplies) in the comfort of their homes. You will serve as the primary point of contact for patients, helping them achieve better breathing, independence, and quality of life. This is a field-based, patient-facing position offering the opportunity to make a meaningful daily impact while enjoying local routes, company-provided vehicle, and strong work-life balance. Key Responsibilities Safely deliver, install, and demonstrate the proper use of durable medical equipment (DME) and respiratory therapy devices to patients' homes Provide clear, patient-centered education on equipment operation, maintenance, cleaning, safety precautions, and troubleshooting Conduct functional checks, minor repairs, and cleaning/disinfection of equipment Pick up equipment when therapy is discontinued or changed Complete all required documentation accurately and timely (delivery tickets, patient education forms, compliance logs, HIPAA-compliant records) Maintain excellent customer service by addressing patient/caregiver questions and concerns empathetically Keep company vehicle clean, stocked, organized, and in compliance with safety standards Manage daily route efficiently while coordinating delivery windows with patients and the scheduling team Perform routine inventory counts and report equipment needs Comply with all company policies, FDA regulations, Joint Commission standards, and HIPAA requirements Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no major violations in the last 3-5 years) Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, physical exam, and DOT physical (if applicable) Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75-100 lbs regularly (oxygen cylinders, concentrators, etc.) Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine desire to help people Professional appearance and dependable, punctual attitude Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in DME delivery, home medical equipment, respiratory therapy, healthcare, or customer-facing delivery roles Knowledge of common respiratory equipment (oxygen systems, CPAP/BiPAP, nebulizers) CPR/BLS certification Mechanical aptitude or troubleshooting experience Class C CDL or willingness to obtain endorsements (helpful for larger vehicles) Physical Demands This position requires frequent lifting, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing stairs, and entering/exiting homes. You must be able to safely handle heavy medical equipment daily and work in various home environments.
