Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Dock Manager to oversee daily operations of our dock at Beal's Lobster Pier. The ideal candidate will be responsible for working closely with fisherman and the community, purchasing seafood, warehousing, transportation and quality control. The candidate would also be responsible for the physical aspects of our direct to consumer shipping operations. This role requires pier and fishing industry experience. Ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, plus, expertise in physical plant maintenance, inventory management systems, and state/government filings. The role demands working closely with senior leadership and our on site Restaurant Manager. Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate shipping, receiving, and freight operations to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods. Oversee warehouse activities including inventory control, purchasing planning and order fulfillment. Implement process improvements utilizing lean principles and continuous improvement strategies to enhance operational efficiency. Monitor profit & loss statements related to dock operations; assist in budgeting and procurement activities. Ensure compliance with safety standards and coordinate forklift operation, warehouse and dock safety protocols, and materials management. Lead staff in purchasing, warehouse distribution tasks, plus, dock mainteneace while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and excellence. Complete necessary and required state and federal reporting requirements for the business. Skills Experience in the seafood wholesale business, purchasing, logistics and supervision of staff. Strong understanding of inventory management, inventory control, freight handling, shipping & receiving procedures. Ability to manage budgets, perform demand planning, production planning, procurement, and materials management effectively. Supervisory experience leading teams. Strong leadership capabilities with excellent communication skills; ability to coordinate multiple departments seamlessly. Pay:
From $70,000.00 per year
