This role combines hands-on dog training with customer service, providing pet owners with expert guidance on training techniques and pet care. The ideal candidate will have experience in animal handling, dog training, and veterinary-related fields, along with excellent communication skills to assist clients in selecting the best services for their pets. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on enhancing pet well-being and owner satisfaction. Responsibilities Teach dogs how to follow simple instructions such as sit, lie down, walk loosely on leash without pulling, recall, leave it and place. Proactively identify and advise existing pet parents on the best training programs for their pets. Handle animals safely and effectively, demonstrating proper restraint and handling techniques to ensure safety for both pets and clients. Support the maintenance of a clean facility. Maintain detailed records of training progress and client interactions to ensure consistent service quality. Support the front desk and pet care department Greet new clients and explain training methods and programs. Handle phone inquiries regarding training methods and training program options. Evaluate dogs to determine their temperaments, abilities, and aptitude for training. Meet or exceed training evaluation closing rates.• Conduct 'Go-Home' and 'Follow-Up' lessons with pet parents, demonstrating the dog's progress and providing instructions on how to maintain and further develop these skills at home. Requirements Proven experience in dog training or animal handling; veterinary technician, assistant, or kennel experience is highly desirable. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients of all backgrounds. Passion for animals and dedication to improving pet behavior and owner satisfaction. Reliable work ethic with a professional attitude toward ongoing learning and development in animal care techniques.
Pay:
$18.00 - $25.00 per hour
