NJ Location Position Summery A Local Delivery Driver is responsible for transporting goods within a designated local area using a box truck. The role involves safe driving, timely deliveries, proper handling of cargo, and providing professional customer service. This position requires compliance with commercial driving regulations, including possession of a valid medical card. Key Responsibilities Operate a box truck to pick up and deliver goods to local customers and business locations Load, secure, and unload cargo safely and efficiently Follow assigned delivery routes and schedule to ensure on-time deliveries Inspect shipments for accuracy and report any discrepancies or damages Maintain accurate delivery records, logs, and proof of delivery documentation Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance issues Follow all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety procedures Provide courteous and professional customer service during deliveries Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding delivery status Qualifications Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Must be able to safely operate a box truck Must possess a valid DOT medical card (or be able to obtain one prior to employment) Ability to follow DOT safety regulations and compliance requirements Ability to lift and carry packages (typically up to 50 lbs. or more depending on job needs) Strong knowledge of local routes and ability to use GPS/navigation systems Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently Good communication and customer service skills Previous experience driving a box truck or in local delivery/courier work Experience in logistics, warehousing, or transportation Physical Requirements Moderate walking, standing, and climbing throughout the shift Regular lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of pallets and products Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching (up to 50% of the shift), and reaching Ability to lift and handle objects weighing 50+ pounds on a frequent basis Exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, dust, cold, heat, and loud noise Above-average coordination (eye-hand, hand-foot, balance) and physical endurance This position pays $180 a day Keywords state-local-municipal driver-switching-ics cargo-trucks-trailers compliance laws-and-regulations pick-and-pack time-and-attendance fleet-inspections maintenance-repair-and-operations-mro environment-health-and-safety-hsse driving-records lift-and-shift carried-interest gps logistics-and-procurement warehousing-and-distribution pallets eye-face-and-head adp
