Job Title:
Driver Check-In Clerk Job Description This role focuses on efficiently checking in drivers at a warehouse facility, coordinating their arrival and parking, and ensuring accurate documentation of orders and appointments. You will serve as a key point of contact between drivers, warehouse staff, and clients, providing clear instructions and maintaining up-to-date records in internal systems. Responsibilities Check in drivers throughout the day at the warehouse and verify their arrival details. Answer incoming calls from drivers and provide clear directions to the facility and designated parking areas. Assign bays to drivers and communicate detailed instructions for loading and unloading. Update internal systems with completed orders and ensure all documentation is accurate and current. Communicate closely with warehouse crews to coordinate work orders and driver movements. Schedule appointments and deliveries at the warehouse and at client locations, ensuring timelines are clearly communicated. Perform front desk duties, including greeting visitors, handling inquiries, and directing traffic within the facility. Maintain organized clerical and documentation control processes for driver check-ins and inventory-related records. Handle multiple tasks simultaneously, such as data entry, phone calls, and system updates, while maintaining accuracy. Communicate with drivers in a professional, direct manner, demonstrating resilience and composure in a fast-paced environment. Essential Skills Proven experience in clerical work, data entry, or document control. Ability to navigate internal inventory systems while using other applications, such as email and communication tools, at the same time. Proficiency with Outlook or similar email and scheduling tools. Strong customer service skills when interacting with drivers, clients, and coworkers. Experience with scheduling drivers and managing appointments. Ability to handle front desk responsibilities in a busy warehouse environment. Comfort communicating with drivers in a direct and resilient manner. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with inventory systems in a warehouse or logistics environment. Customer service or administrative support roles. Ability to manage multiple phone calls and tasks simultaneously. Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting. Work Environment The role is based in a cold storage warehouse facility, with the position located in the office area, which is the warmer section of the warehouse. You will work in an indoor office environment within the warehouse, regularly interacting with drivers, warehouse personnel, and clients by phone and in person. The position involves using computers, internal inventory systems, and communication tools throughout the day, while operating in a fast-paced, logistics-focused setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Clackamas, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
