JOB SUMMARY
Pyramid Healthcare Drivers are a core component of exceptional behavioral healthcare service delivery. Our drivers are the first face our patients see when entering our care, and they're the last face our patients see when leaving our care. Drivers are responsible for providing exceptional customer service and safe, caring transport for all patients. They transport patients to and from clinical services, ancillary, and support services. Other responsibilities include vehicle cleaning and sanitation to ensure a safe transport environment for both patients and staff.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Preferred high school diploma or GED equivalent. Prior experience in a hospital or behavioral healthcare environment, patient care, and/or transportation is a plus. LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or
REGISTRATION
Active valid driver's license. CPR course required within 30 days of hire. Completion of various safety training upon hire.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Transport patients to and from behavioral healthcare services. Maintain a safe environment for patients, self, and coworkers. Communicate with the team, coworkers, and patients in a positive and professional manner. Take initiative to deliver the best customer service, even during times of stress. Knowledgeable of all aspects and functionalities of the client transportation system. Provide appropriate safety oversight and monitoring for all clients while in transport.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Good communication skills to interact with all patients and staff. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Requires frequent extended transports; must be able to sit for long periods. Excellent customer service skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances. Possible exposure to patient elements. Handles emergency or crisis situations. Subject to many interruptions and pressure from multiple calls and inquiries. Occasionally subject to irregular hours; handles absentee replacements on short notice. Personal protective equipment (masks) is required when transporting patients.
