Driver/Valve Repair Technician

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities Driving & Logistics:

Safely operate company vehicles to transport valves, tools, and materials to customer sites and branch locations Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain accurate logs in compliance with DOT regulations Load and unload equipment, ensuring proper handling and securement Coordinate delivery schedules with operations and customers to ensure timely service

Valve Repair & Maintenance:

Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair various types of valves (gate, ball, check, relief, etc.) Disassemble, clean, repair, and reassemble valves according to manufacturer specifications Perform pressure testing and document results accurately Maintain service records and complete all required documentation

Safety & Compliance:

Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including PPE requirements Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company standards Maintain a clean and organized work environment in both shop and field settings

Customer Service & Teamwork:

Represent PSS Cross Country professionally at all times Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and team members Support branch operations as needed, including warehouse and inventory tasks Qualifications & Requirements High school diploma or GED required Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred (or ability to obtain) 1-3 years of experience in valve repair, mechanical work, or related field preferred Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and specifications Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs regularly Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in various environments (shop and field) Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions Core Competencies Safety-first mindset Reliability and accountability Strong work ethic and attention to detail Team collaboration
