DSP (Direct Support Professional)

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a crucial role in providing support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities. Duties:

• Assist individuals with daily activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
• Provide emotional support and companionship
• Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors
• Support individuals in participating in recreational and social activities
• Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals at all times
• Document and report any changes in behavior or health status to the appropriate supervisor

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in caregiving or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
• Knowledge of resident rights and person-centered care principles
• Ability to effectively communicate and build rapport with individuals, their families, and other team members
• Basic understanding of vital signs monitoring
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Skills:

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Compassionate and patient demeanor
• Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle challenging behaviors
• Knowledge of hospice care principles (preferred)
• Experience working with people with developmental disabilities (preferred)
