EPI is a Public Student Loan Forgiveness program qualified employer As a Regional Behavioral Health Specialist , you will be a vital member of our team, playing a key role in partnering with and providing guidance to Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) staff and the childcare community in supporting children's social, emotional and behavioral needs. As a Regional Behavioral Health Specialist with EPI , you will experience professional GROWTH opportunities and CONNECT to a community that leads a greater PURPOSE . This is what you'll get to do. Provide childcare community with direction to early childhood mental health prevention services and assure all early childcare and education providers have access to quality services. Support the childcare community and CCR&R staff in the preparation for and implementation of Program Wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PW-PBIS) cohort training. Partner and collaborate with state and regional CCR&R team, building a strong, effective working relationship with State Behavior and Health Coordinator. Identify, develop, and facilitate training and education to increase awareness of available, support resources and tools to assist CCR&R staff in building skills to support childcare providers address children's social, emotional, behavioral and mental health needs. Attend community and state events and engage in outreach activities to promote and advocate for policies, practices and programs that support the mental health needs of children. Consult with and provide guidance with childcare community to address crisis situations and ensure appropriate support for all involved. Identify grant opportunities and other funding resources, for the purchase of materials to support childcare provider's or individual child's needs to create a more inclusive and social and emotionally supported environment. Evaluate and report outcomes of activities utilizing existing date and needs assessments. Here's what we're looking for. What are you waiting for? Apply today! Tech savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; ability to adapt to new applications and technology quickly. Sense of humor and desire to positively contribute to team.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in early childhood, elementary education with an early childhood endorsement or children and family services Formal education in mental health or behavioral guidance of young children; or Three (3) years' experience working with children experiencing significant emotional, behavioral, and/or mental health needs. Two (2) years' experience working directly in early childcare setting, preferred. Two (2) years' experience delivering adult education and/or training. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be reviewed for approval by the Department of Health and Human Services. A valid driver's license, good driving record and the ability to pass extensive background checks including but not limited to criminal, abuse and Medicaid exclusion.Location:
The ideal candidate will be based in or nearby the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area. However, this position may be able to work remotely part of the time but will require frequent travel to our Waterloo or other regional offices for collaboration and meetings.
