POSITION TITLE

Early Childhood Classroom Support Staff

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma required Childcare experience preferred Ability to supervise and manage up to 12 children ages 3-5 independently when needed

REPORTS TO

Classroom Teacher and Principal

JOB GOAL

Provide support to the classroom teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment that promotes growth in all areas of child development.

HOURS:

12:30 PM - 5:30 PM, Monday-Friday 10-month position (optional summer employment available)

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the teacher in maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment Support students in developing age-appropriate behavior and social skills Supervise students and ensure their needs are met while teachers provide small group or individualized instruction Actively engage with students during indoor and outdoor play, ensuring safety at all times Assist with meal routines, including table sanitation, food distribution, and clean-up Supervise and support students during rest time Demonstrate respect and responsiveness to the diverse cultural, linguistic, and developmental needs of students Communicate information to families as directed by the teacher or administration Participate in professional development and staff meetings Build and maintain positive working relationships with staff and families Perform other duties as assigned by the teacher or administration

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Part-time position. Salary based on the Teacher Assistant/Classroom Support Staff schedule. Benefits include health insurance and paid sick and personal leave.

EVALUATION

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Board policy for classified personnel.

Pay:

$12.00 - $14.00 per hour
