Job Description
Summary Washington Primary is seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team as an Early Literacy Interventions Teacher. This position focuses on supporting young learners in developing foundational literacy skills through tailored intervention strategies. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a love for reading, writing and mathematics, while also collaborating with teachers, parents, and specialists to ensure each child's success. Responsibilities
- Assess students' literacy skills to identify areas of need and develop individualized intervention plans.
- Implement evidence-based instructional strategies to support early literacy development in small group and one-on-one settings.
- Monitor student progress through regular assessments and adjust interventions as necessary.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate literacy interventions into the general curriculum.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and strategies to support literacy at home.
- Create a positive and engaging learning environment that encourages students.
- Stay current with research and trends in early literacy education and participate in ongoing professional development.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions, and report data as required by school administration. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification in Early Childhood or Elementary Education.
- Experience working with early learners in an educational setting, preferably in literacy intervention.
- Strong understanding of early literacy development and effective instructional strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to analyze student data and use it to inform instruction.
- Passion for fostering a love of learning in young children.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
- Ability to pass a fingerprint-based background check per School Board policy.
