Jul 1, 2026 Job Description Overview of Position The Exceptional Children (EC) Teacher at Shining Rock Classical Academy is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing specialized instruction and support services for students with disabilities. This role promotes student success through inclusive practices, collaboration with staff and families, compliance with state and federal EC guidelines, and the delivery of rigorous, data-driven instruction aligned with the school's mission and values. Essential Responsibilities Student Support & Instruction Provide specialized instruction through co-teaching, small groups, and individualized support. Develop and implement IEPs, accommodations, and targeted interventions. Use assessment data to guide instruction and improve student outcomes. Promote inclusive practices and support students' academic, social, and emotional growth. Program Compliance & Coordination Ensure compliance with EC policies, timelines, documentation, and IEP procedures. Coordinate and facilitate IEP and 504 meetings. Maintain accurate EC records and support ECATS implementation. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student services. Collaboration & Professionalism Model and reinforce the school's mission, values, and culture. Participate in professional development and continuous improvement efforts. Support staff through training, coaching, and collaboration on best practices. Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required. Valid North Carolina EC licensure required. Master's degree and/or EC Program Administrator License preferred. Experience working with children and students with disabilities preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and instructional skills.
