Description Job Summary:
The ECYEH (Education of Children and Youth Experiencing Homelessness) Summer STEAM Program will bring STEAM programming to homeless shelters throughout the region in the summer. The program will take up residency at one shelter per week, for a maximum of four shelters per summer. The
ECYEH STEAM
Teacher is responsible for facilitating engaging digital fabrication and computer science activities to children experiencing homelessness. Responsibilities also include safely transporting STEAM equipment to and from each shelter.
Essential Functions:
Deliver STEAM-oriented instruction through project-based learning methods. Possess a student-centered approach to STEAM teaching and learning. Use technology to promote learning, creativity, and collaboration. Work collaboratively with Supervisor of STEAM Education and other STEAM teachers in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the ECYEH Summer STEAM Program. Manage students in a homeless shelter. Model and maintain exemplary punctuality and attendance. Maintain an inventory of materials to support the collection and organization of supplies necessary for teaching in a STEAM setting. Safely transport STEAM equipment to and from each shelter. Act as a positive ambassador for the Fab Lab and the Bucks IU.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a part-time, hourly position. The maximum number of hours per week is 32.
Qualifications Education and Experience:
PA Level I or Level II Elementary or STEAM Content-Area Certification is required. Teaching experience is required. Knowledge of STEAM Education is required. Experience teaching engineering, robotics, and/ or STEAM topics is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Evidence of exemplary classroom teaching experience. Evidence of experience with and expert knowledge of STEAM Education. Excellent communication skills. A proven track record in the use of a rich array of instructional methods, the ability to build professional relationships, solve problems, and plan collaboratively. Deep understanding of student learning theory, brain-based learning, and differentiated instruction. Ability to effectively communicate with parents, students, and staff verbally and in writing Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable): Citizenship or work authorization to work in the United States required
