Job Description

Job Purpose or Objective(s): Responsible for direct implementation, guidance and coordination of the education component within the entire Child Care Program, following all governing standards and regulations, to ensure educational experience for young students. You will report to the Program Director.
Primary Tasks:
1. You will oversee all classroom practices - room arrangement, lesson plans, daily schedules, routines, and transitions to assure their adherence to program policies. 2. Oversee documentation, implementation and outcomes of children's developmental screenings, ongoing child observations/assessments, and educational requirements of parent teacher conferences and home visits. 3. Review education plans and activities to assure services provided are culturally, linguistically, and developmentally appropriate and inclusive of individual levels of ability, interests and developmental rates. Assure that all practices and activities comply with the OKDHS Licensing Requirements for Centers. 4. Observe classrooms and outdoor areas to assure environments are clean, healthy. 5. You will participate in meetings to develop IFSPs/IEPs and support classroom integration plans. 6. Plan the implementation of activities to involve parents in planning of child development, education and individualized plans for the parent's own child. 7. Responsible for the development and revision of procedures regarding content area, and provide necessary trainings regarding policy updates, revisions or final rules to satisfy performance standards. 8. Perform other tasks as may be assigned.
Requirements:
  • BA/BS in Education or major relating to early childhood education, or 4 years directly related experience.
  • Ability to work independently with minimum direction
  • Correspondence skills both orally and written
  • Strong interpersonal skills and time management skills
  • Knowledge of and ability to work with appropriate hardware and software applications
  • Three (3) years' experience in Head Start/Early Head Start or equivalent
