- PRN•as needed •Job Summary•The Mammography Technologist I is responsible for performing screening and diagnostic mammography procedures to assist in the detection and diagnosis of breast diseases.
- Essential Functions
- + Performs mammography imaging procedures, ensuring high-quality screening and diagnostic images through proper positioning, technique, and compression.

requirements. + Reviews physician orders and patient history, ensuring all mammography procedures are correctly ordered, verified, and acknowledged. + Educates patients on breast health, self-exam techniques, and procedure expectations, addressing concerns with professionalism. + Assists radiologists with specialized mammography procedures, including fine needle aspiration (FNA), needle localizations, and biopsies, while maintaining sterile technique. + Prepares patients for invasive mammography-guided procedures, providing clear instructions and post-procedure care guidance. + Maintains accurate documentation and image storage as required by state, federal, and accreditation regulations. + Manages mammography inventory and supplies, ensuring cost-effective use and proper stock levels for daily operations. + Performs other duties as assigned. + Maintains regular and reliable attendance. + Complies with all policies and standards.- Qualifications
- + 1-3 years of experience in radiologic imaging required + 2-4 years experience as a mammographer in an acute care hospital setting preferred
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- + Proficiency in mammographic positioning, imaging techniques, and radiation safety standards.
- Licenses and Certifications
- + Licensed Radiologic Technologist as applicable by state required + ARRT Radiography Certification required and + (M) ARDMS or ARRT
- Mammography certification or eligibility to obtain within six (6) months of hire required + BCLS
