The Adult Education Teacher is responsible for providing engaging, supportive, and accessible instruction to adult learners with diverse educational backgrounds, learning needs, and goals. The teacher develops and delivers instruction that helps students strengthen academic skills, prepare for employment or further education, earn a high school equivalency credential, and build confidence as lifelong learners. This position will serve as the primary contact and provide instruction in academic areas (reading, math, and language) for all assigned students.
SALARY:
$13.62
25 per hour, not to exceed 19 hours per week. Part-time positions are posted based on the possible availability of a future assignment which are sporadic and may not occur. Available positions are contingent upon enrollment and instructional needs of the College.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Adult Education Operations Plan and deliver effective, standards-aligned instruction for adult learners. Assess students' skills and learning needs and use assessment results to guide instruction. Develop individualized learning plans and provide appropriate academic support. Create a welcoming, respectful, and comprehensive classroom environment. Use a variety of instructional strategies, technology, and learning materials to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. Monitor student progress and maintain accurate attendance, assessment, and academic records. Provide constructive feedback and encourage students to take an active role in their learning. Support students in setting and achieving educational, career, and personal goals. Integrate workplace skills, digital literacy, problem-solving, communication, and career-readiness skills into instruction when appropriate. Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, administrators, and community partners. Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and program activities. Maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable school, program, and regulatory requirements. Perform other duties as assigned. Possession of an bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required. One year of teaching or tutoring experience is preferred .
