Location:
Modesto, CA Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging classroom instruction that prepares adult learners to successfully pass the HiSET (High School Equivalency) examination. Teach Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies using curriculum aligned with HiSET standards. Provide classroom instruction in English to adult learners with a variety of educational backgrounds and skill levels. Create lesson plans and instructional materials that accommodate different learning styles and academic needs. Assess student progress through classroom activities, practice tests, assignments, and individualized feedback. Adjust instruction as needed to help students strengthen academic skills and prepare for the HiSET examination. Provide one-on-one academic support and tutoring when appropriate to help students overcome learning challenges. Encourage student attendance, participation, accountability, and progress toward educational goals. Maintain accurate attendance records, student progress notes, and required program documentation in a timely manner. Collaborate with fellow instructors and program staff to coordinate instruction, share best practices, and support overall program success. Required Qualifications Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to teach and explain academic concepts clearly to adult learners. Strong organizational and classroom management skills. Basic computer proficiency. Ability to work effectively with students from a variety of educational backgrounds and skill levels. Patience, professionalism, and a passion for adult education and helping others succeed. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required. Experience teaching adults, high school students, GED/HiSET preparation, or similar educational programs. Experience providing tutoring or individualized academic support. Classroom management and curriculum development experience.
