An Adult Basic Education or Literacy Instructor works with adults, including young adults who are out of school, to improve literacy and strengthen basic skills in reading, writing and math. Helps students to learn English or gain a high school diploma or equivalent certificate. Assesses students' educational levels, skills and goals, and differentiates instruction as needed for adults at different levels in one class. May focus on basic skills as needed for a particular occupation, or assist students with developing study skills or job search skills, or help students connect with social services.

Are you Passionate about Education, Entrepreneurship or Business? The next generation is looking to you! Join SPARK business academy and make a difference! We are looking for Instructors to help teach practical classes (e.g., basic entrepreneurship and financial education) at local schools (grades PK-12) using our easy-to-follow teaching guides. Teaching guides, Training, and class materials will be provided for each class.
  • Location:
    The location will be either at a School or a Community Center in the San Ramon CA area
  • Class Information and Grades:
    The classes teach 3rd-5th and 6th-8th graders
  • Dates:
    November 7th, 14th, 21st, and December 5th, 12th.
  • Hours:
    Saturdays 9:00 a.m.

$70 per hour

Skills:
Must have experience working with students (3rd-5th and 6th-8th graders ) Dependability and punctuality a must Strong work ethic Passionate and engaging pedagogy Proficient in differentiating curriculum to meet student needs
Education and Experience:
College degree preferred, but strong current undergrad/grad student encouraged to apply Experience working with students students
