Pay Rate:
$25.00 / hour
Schedule:
On-call / On-demand (Daytime availability strongly preferred)
About the Role
Lake Technical College is seeking dedicated educators to join our substitute instructor roster. In this role, you will step in to lead GED Prep and ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes when regular instructors are absent. This position is a deeply fulfilling way to give back to your local community by empowering adult learners to transform their lives through education.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging instruction in GED Prep subjects (Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies) or ESOL coursework using established lesson plans.
Foster a supportive, encouraging, and structured classroom environment for adult learners.
Maintain accurate attendance records and class progress logs during coverage assignments.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (Required).
Experience:
Teaching experience preferred, but not essential.
Certification:
Valid Florida Teaching Certificate preferred, but not required.
Availability:
Strong daytime availability to accept sub coverage calls.
Onboarding & Requirements
Unless currently onboarded with Lake County Schools (LCS), candidates must successfully pass a Level II background check and drug screening (approximate out-of-pocket cost of $100) prior to eligibility for employment.
