Employment Type:
Full-Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt Goodwill Southwest Florida is seeking an Adult Day Program Instructor for our Pathways to Opportunity program . The Adult Day Program Instructor will provide direct support and training to individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in Goodwill's Pathways to Opportunity. Program Instructors assist with the acquisition, retention or improvement of skills to support participation in daily, meaningful, valued routines in the community. The ideal candidate brings compassion, a strong work ethic, and the ability to perform work while supporting Goodwill's mission of creating opportunities and strengthening the community.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting in maintaining a clean and safe environment. Meal preparation Behavioral needs and personal care assistance Supervising and teaching the individuals served with the goal of fostering increased independence.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of hire. (Required) High school diploma or GED (Required) Must complete Direct Care Core Competencies, Zero Tolerance, and other required trainings under the Developmental Disabilities Medicaid Waiver Handbook and Goodwill Southwest Florida, Inc. Certification in CPR, First Aid, Infection Control, and HIV/AIDS or able to be trained in same. Valid Florida Driver's license, Florida car registration and proof of automobile insurance is required. Strong interpersonal skills and effective judgment for use in interviewing and evaluating and working with person served. Writing and vocabulary skills Documentation of accurate case management notes. Familiarity with Americans with Disabilities Act, Agency for Persons with Disabilities, Division of Vocation Rehabilitation, Rehabilitation Technologies and Instructional Techniques. Why Goodwill?
