Bachelor's degree, minimum General Purpose To plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program for adults in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential. Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities exhibit positive, respectful working relationships with co-workers, students, and directors be flexible in working locations and/or hours (nights, weekends, various locations in LaPorte county) plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences manage students within student learning system such as Aztec, TABE, WIN provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students' varying needs instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment use relevant technology to support instruction as required by grant observe and evaluate student's performance and development as required by grant encourage and monitor the progress of individual students, including required goal testing update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies and school regulations prepare required reports on students and activities in Inters system manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school apply appropriate disciplinary measures where necessary establish positive relationships with students by counseling students with academic problems and providing student encouragement using resource partners available participate in department and school meeting, parent meetings communicate necessary information regularly to students and colleagues regarding student progress and student needs, includes phone calls to students regarding absences attend required professional development activities (9 hours professional development required for all employees working 10 hours or more/week per grant period) maintain required learning plans in state documented format and update monthly complete necessary Indiana Career Explorer learning indicator on each student Education and Experience Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institute Meet professional teacher education requirements of Michigan City Are Schools and State of Indiana Possess or be eligible for Indiana certification Relevant teaching or student teaching experience Computer skills required Passion and commitment for working in a socioeconomically, linguistically, culturally and racially diverse school setting Work Schedule Part time Monday through Saturday, times vary, as negotiated by Director/Principal through June 30, 2027 grant period only Salary and Benefits
