Must hold a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate (any subject area or grade level) ELA, ESL, Special Education, or Tesol certifications preferred, though not required. Understanding/proficiency in a foreign language is preferred, though not required. Willingness to work collaboratively in a team-focused environment Must meet NCLB requirements forHighly Qualified:

Provide educational instruction in English language communication skills (understanding, speaking, reading, and writing) and civics education to non-native English speakers. Assist in English language acquisition to help ESL students to obtain jobs and gain access to educational opportunities. Increase the basic reading, writing, speaking and numeracy/math skills necessary for adults to obtain employment and self-sufficiency and to successfully advance in the workforce.Work year:
September-December and January-May. Two 15-week semesters Paid class time: Monday & Wednesday morningsTotal:
9.0 paid hours per week EDUCATION and/orEXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree or higher.LANGUAGE, MATHEMATICAL AND REASONING SKILLS
