An Adult Basic Education or Literacy Instructor works with adults, including young adults who are out of school, to improve literacy and strengthen basic skills in reading, writing and math. Helps students to learn English or gain a high school diploma or equivalent certificate. Assesses students' educational levels, skills and goals, and differentiates instruction as needed for adults at different levels in one class. May focus on basic skills as needed for a particular occupation, or assist students with developing study skills or job search skills, or help students connect with social services.
Must be eligible to work in the United States. There is no sponsorship for this position.

JOB SUMMARY
: The Williston State College Adult Learning Center is seeking a GED instructor interested and available to work on a part-time basis. Classes are to be scheduled during the week day hours in Williston. The GED classes are designed to assist students with preparation for GED official exams. There are 4 GED exams, RLA, Math, Science and Social Studies. The state of North Dakota requires each GED graduate to also complete a civics exam. Classes will focus on subjects based on student needs. Tutoring can be offered to students who ask or need extra support.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Education, Math, Social Science, or related field. Proficient math skills and the demonstrated ability to teach math at all levels
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION
Maaster's degree in Education, Math, Social Science or related field. State teaching license and experience with instruction and curriculum planning
SALARY :
$28 per hour
