Correctional Adult Education Specialist Association of Charter School Education Services Albuquerque, NM Job Details Full-time From $40,000 a year 15 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications General academic student support Graduation requirements management In-person test proctoring Working with students Academic assessment administration Working with incarcerated individuals One-on-one instruction Adult learning Adult education Entry level Student academic progress tracking Full Job Description Title Correctional Adult Education Specialist (Student Support & Assessment Focus) Location MDC Campus Description Gordon Bernell provides an opportunity for students incarcerated inside the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center to continue with school despite their current situation. Join a small but dedicated team in providing one-on-one or small group services to students across the jail. This full time position will be split between providing direct services to students, assisting instructional staff, onboarding new students, some light teaching and subbing, coordinating and proctoring assessments, and contributing to operational procedures.
The ideal candidate will:
Enjoy being on the move as a good deal of walking is involved Be organized enough to help track each student on their individual journey to build skills, complete credits and make progress towards graduation Have the desire to engage with students to overcome complex challenges and find success in education.
Qualifications:
Experience in an education setting, correctional background helpful. Willingness to work inside a secure facility - facility background check required Transportation - daily commute to the facility 20 minutes west of the
I-25 / I-40
