An Adult Basic Education or Literacy Instructor works with adults, including young adults who are out of school, to improve literacy and strengthen basic skills in reading, writing and math. Helps students to learn English or gain a high school diploma or equivalent certificate. Assesses students' educational levels, skills and goals, and differentiates instruction as needed for adults at different levels in one class. May focus on basic skills as needed for a particular occupation, or assist students with developing study skills or job search skills, or help students connect with social services.

General Education Instructor - Temporary (Part-Time)

Compensation:
$28.19 - $35.23 per hour Pima Medical Institute is seeking an experienced educator to join our Houston campus on a temporary, part-time basis. In this role, you will deliver foundational science and medical courses to students pursuing careers in healthcare. Please let us know your schedule and course preferences when you apply!
Courses Available:
Anatomy & Physiology Medical Terminology Kinesiology Key Responsibilities:
Implement and evaluate daily lesson plans including scheduled activities and sequence materials. Plan instruction to achieve specific objectives based on student needs and established curriculum. Monitor student attendance and coordinate with the Student Services Coordinator, Associate Director, or Program Director when absences occur two days in a row; enter attendance daily. Review student success rates and implement plans to reduce withdrawals; maintain an 80% student success rate for all classes taught. Monitor student academic progress and notify the Student Services Coordinator, Associate Director, or Program Director when a student's grade average drops. Maintain student grades per established policies; prepare final grades at the end of each sequence to update student records and transcripts. Evaluate student performance and make necessary provisions to meet individual learning needs. Monitor students in the classroom; assist students and ensure all safety precautions are adhered to.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree with education in the specific courses taught, from an accredited institution. Secondary education teaching credentials and teaching experience or adult education teaching experience preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive Pay:
