Adjunct Instructors are hired in a part-time capacity on an as needed basis. These positions are filled prior to or during each semester and are contingent upon the needs of the College. Brazosport College accepts application materials for pool positions on a continuing basis throughout the year from qualified applicants willing to teach on a part-time basis. Academic departments will contact potential applicants when there are available openings. Responsible for providing instruction within the Adult Education & Literacy (AEL) program, including but not limited to High School Equivalency (GED), English as a Second Language (ESL), Integrated Education & Training (IET), and college readiness/TSI preparation courses. Instruction is delivered within a student-centered, transition-focused model designed to support movement into postsecondary education and workforce training. Instructional assignments will be based on program needs and instructor qualifications. Job duties include, but are not limited to: Reports to the Instructional and Curriculum Manager Deliver effective instruction aligned with Adult Education & Literacy program standards, including GED, ESL, Integrated Education & Training (IET), and college readiness/TSI preparation. Adapt instruction to meet diverse learning styles, language levels, and career pathway contexts. Integrate technology and digital resources to enhance learning outcomes and workforce readiness. Collaborate with instructional teams and, as applicable, workforce partners to support integrated education and training (IET) and pathway-aligned models, ensuring alignment between academic instruction and career pathway outcomes. Assist students in transitioning to postsecondary education, workforce training programs, or employment by reinforcing college and career readiness skills aligned with program pathways. Verify the accuracy and integrity of all documentation required for grant compliance. Maintain attendance records by signing attendance sheets manually or electronically to reflect real-time classroom engagement accurately. Utilize the internal electronic timecard system to record hours worked and certify that all activities performed while clocked in are directly related to grant-funded initiatives, ensuring adherence to grant requirements and funding regulations. Ensure timely submission of all required supporting documentation, such as training certificates, to the Program Manager or designated personnel. Failure to submit documents promptly may result in adverse consequences, impacting program compliance and funding eligibility. Ensures completion of the required number of professional development hours as mandated by the AEL grant within each program and complies with all college training requirements. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level as assigned. This position is housed at (Alvin/Pearland) College benefits do not accrue with this part-time position.Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university Excellent written and oral communication skills Exceptional educational qualifications, employment experiences, and/or skills may be given special consideration.Desirable Qualifications:
A Texas Educator's Certificate or a Teaching Certificate Some teaching experience is preferred but not required. Bilingual preferred but not required.
